Volunteer Leadership Opportunities

Carrollwood Players Theatre needs you! Your community theatre is growing, and we need your help to make sure we can continue to build a bright future.
We are looking for a few great volunteers to take on the following leadership roles at Carrollwood Players. We provide full training!
Volunteer Concessions Manager
Help us keep our concessions stand well stocked and organized by picking up prepaid inventory and stocking the concessions stand once per week. Though not required, previous volunteer experience at Carrollwood Players is preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid state issued ID
- Must have reliable transportation and a vehicle with a backseat and trunk
- Pickup prepaid orders once per week (time and day is flexible) at Sam’s Club and Publix
- Unload inventory at Carrollwood Players and stock concessions stand
- Keep concessions stand and concessions storage closets clean and organized
- Break down and dispose of product packaging and boxes
- Advise CWP staff of product replenishment needs each week
- Estimated time commitment – 4 to 5 hours per week
Volunteer Box Office Representative – Work from Home
Help manage the back end of the online Carrollwood Players ticketing platform to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Provide friendly, excellent phone and email customer service to our valued season ticket holders and patrons.
This opportunity is ideal for a volunteer who is very comfortable working on a computer, learns quickly, and who has a keen eye for detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a friendly and helpful demeanor are essential. Though not required, previous volunteer experience at Carrollwood Players is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet service
- Must have a reliable landline phone or cell phone
- Must be available during the daytime on weekdays
- This opportunity requires learning the Arts People ticketing system. We will train you!
- Help set-up and open ticket sales for CWP productions
- Create accurate pricing terms for tickets
- Monitor ticket sales and run reports
- Process ticket exchanges and other customer requests
- Cover one three-hour box office phone shift per week (CWP calls are forwarded to your phone)
- Respond to email requests from customers (you are provided with a CWP email address)
- Create pricing adjustments and promo codes
- Communicate with CWP staff regularly to ensure an excellent box office experience for our patrons
- Estimated time commitment – 6 to 7 hours per week
Volunteer House Manager – Performances
Help ensure a wonderful experience for our patrons from arrival until departure by volunteering as a CWP House Manager! The House Manager arrives early for CWP performances to ensure, with the help of front of house volunteers, that all areas of the theatre are clean, organized, and ready to receive an audience.
This opportunity is ideal for a volunteer who is great with people, customer service oriented, and adept at leading others and being a problem solver. This opportunity requires previous front of house volunteer experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have and be able to bring a laptop computer to the theatre
- Must be available to work two performances per month on average.
- This opportunity requires learning basic elements of the Arts People online ticketing system, such as printing the patron list and processing door ticket sales.
- Unlock the theatre on performance nights.
- Set up concessions and check that it is fully stocked for the performance
- Work with front of house volunteers to ensure all areas of the theatre are clean and stocked, including restrooms
- Prepare and put out reserved seating signs
- Print and mark reserved seats on the door list
- Work closely with the Stage Manager to determine start time for the show and the second act
- Provide on the spot training for concessions, check-in, and raffle volunteers
- Assist and guide patrons with seating when needed
- Assist with any front of house positions that are not covered
- Sell tickets to patrons
- Monitor the lobby during the performance and provide assistance/information to latecomers
- Ensure front of house volunteers complete all post-performance duties
- Communicate with the Stage Manager for end of night lock-up coverage
- Provide any and all leadership required should any issues arise during the course of the evening/afternoon.
- Estimated time commitment: 6 hours per month
