Creativity. Reinvention. Sustainability
Join us as we celebrate local artists, explore the classics, pay tribute to the joy of music, and embrace change in the second half of our 40th Anniversary Season.
Thanks to historic community support, years of saving for a rainy day, and talented artists, staff, and volunteers who reinvented the art of theatre, we have survived.
Now, as we look forward to things getting back to normal, we are more dedicated than ever to making sure CWP remains strong and vibrant.
While there is light at the end of the tunnel, we recognize the importance of reducing our expenses while continuing to provide the magic of live theatre safely.
With our seating capacity reduced by more than 50% for safety, the significant expense of producing costly royalty-based works has become a temporary challenge. Additionally, a majority of the licensing companies prohibit us from live-streaming performances.
Thankfully, we have determined a glorious solution to these circumstances. We have amended the second half of our 2020/2021 Season, postponing some royalty-based published works until a later time.
In their places, we have planned an exciting collection of alternatives we think you’ll love.
Our previously advertised season will remain in effect through our production of Godspell. The new selections will take effect in April and through the end of the season in August.
We are excited about these new projects and plan to bring back some of the postponed published works later, when we return to normal seating capacity. Hopefully this will be possible in the fall.
Thanks to the support of our community, we are in an excellent position to reach for a bright future for CWP, and this decision is simply the next part of our strategy to stay strong a little bit longer until things get better.
We are thrilled that we will be able to live stream most of these productions in addition to live performances with health and safety protocols.
Thank you so much for your support of community theatre for all.
