Carrollwood Players Theatre is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Online 50/50 Cash Raffle Fundraiser!

One lucky ticket holder will win 50% of the money raised!

Raffle chances may be obtained between 12 p.m. eastern on Monday, April 14th, 2025 and 12 p.m. eastern on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025.

The winner will be drawn on Thursday, May 15th, 2025.

Ticket sales for our productions do not fully cover our expenses, and we rely on the generosity of our supporters to accomplish our mission of keeping the grassroots arts strong in Tampa Bay.

Raffles like this, along with our community’s donations and participation in other fundraising events, make all the difference in helping to keep your community theatre strong.

Your support will:

● Help with regular ongoing expenses such as rent, utilities, royalties for our productions, theatre maintenance and more.

● Help with production expenses such as scenery, costumes, props, lighting and more.

● Help us continue to enhance the quality of life for people in our community who participate in our programs and come to see our productions.

● Help us rebuild our “fund for the future” to ensure that CWP can grow and always have a home.

Official Rules

Carrollwood Players, Inc (EIN:59-2136203), hereafter referred to as Carrollwood Players Theatre, is a charitable organization. A copy of the official registration and financial information may be obtained by calling the Florida Department of Agriculture’s toll-free number (1-800-435-7352). Registration does not imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation by the State of Florida.

Eligibility

Participants must be a US citizen or legal resident and 18 years of age or older to purchase a 50/50 raffle ticket for this fundraiser (void where prohibited). Compensated Carrollwood Players Theatre staff members and their immediate family members (parent, sibling, spouse, children) are not eligible.

Suggested minimum donation for tickets:

• $100 for 100 chances
• $40 for 20 chances
• $20 for 4 chances
• $10 for 1 chances

No portion of a contribution made for a raffle chance may be deducted as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. Pursuant to Florida law, no purchase or contribution is necessary to enter the drawing. If you do not wish to donate, and would like to be entered in the drawing, you may request one entry in writing.

To enter via this method, mail a handwritten entry request containing the following information in a sealed envelope to:

● Date of birth (entrants using this entry method must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of the state of Florida)

● Full street address

● Telephone number

● Email address

Mailed entry requests must be received prior to the end of the sales period.

Determination of Official Winner

1. A potential winner must be eligible to participate in the raffle under these official rules and must not violate these official rules as determined in Carrollwood Players Theatre’s sole judgment.

2. If, for any reason whatsoever, all of the listed eligiubility requirements are not satisfied concerning a particular potential winner, then that potential winner will be deemed disqualified.

3. A potential winner must provide Carrollwood Players Theatre with a valid, government issued photo identification, such as a valid driver’s license, a valid state ID card, or a US Passport.

4. The winning name will be determined by a random draw utilizing an audited arbitrary name generation application.  Physical raff;e tickets will not be provided.

5. The winner does not need to be present to win.

6. The winner will be contacted by a representative of Carrollwood Players Theatre.

7. The winner must redeem their prize within 60 days following the raffle draw date. If the prize is not claimed within the allotted time, winner proceeds will be donated to Carrollwood Players Theatre.

8. Upon the official winner’s compliance with these official rules, including the verification requirements listed above under “Determination of Official Winner,” Carrollwood Players Theatre shall mail a check in payment of the prize, less any required tax withholding amount, to the mailing address provided by the official winner.

Prize

Upon compliance with these official rules, the official winner shall be entitled to receive fifty percent (50%) of the gross proceeds of the raffle.

Applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. As such, the winner, must complete tax forms to claim a prize, when applicable.

For any amount won that equals or exceeds $600 US; the winner must complete a W-9 tax form.

For any amount won that equals or exceeds $5,000 US; the winner must complete a W-2G tax form, and Carrollwood Players Theatre may be required by law to withhold 24% of winnings for payment to the IRS.

Publicity Release

The official winner agrees that Carrollwood Players Theatre has the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide and on the Internet in any media now known or hereafter developed at any time or times, the official winner’s name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, biographical information, and prize information for any purpose, including but not limited to in advertisements, trade and promotional purposes, publicity, and other communications without additional compensation, in perpetuity, without notice, review, or approval, except where prohibited by law.
