4An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout­-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of 1he bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

DRACULA, THE VAMPIRE PLAY

When Dr. Van Helsing, a specialist in obscure maladies, discovers that beautiful Lucy Westenra is the victim of a vampire, suspicion falls on a mysterious neighbor, Count Dracula, and his frighteningly beautiful wives. This haunting retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic novel features many colorful characters, including 1he ever-popular Renfield, who fancies a diet of flies and spiders. There are young lovers, comic staff members, sanatorium guests and Jonathan Harker, first to fall victim to the vampire’s thirst. The story of his journey to Dracula’s fortress will have you on the edge of your seat. Intermingled with the drama is a fine thread of comedy that helps relieve mounting tension and chills.

November 30- December 22, 2018-A Holiday Classic
An adaptation of the st01y of Ebenezer Scrooge’s joumey from an embittered, ungenerous creature into a giving, caring human being at the hands of three spirits, who, one Christmas Eve, show him what life means. A CWP Tradition!

STEEL MAGNOLIAS

January 11 – February 2, 2019 -A Classic Comedy/Drama
The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, the outspoken, wise-cracking Tmvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, Miss Clairee, and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on their underlying strength and love.

This happy-go-lucky view of small-town vice and statewide political side-stepping recounts the good times and the demise of the Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas. Governors, senators, mayors, and even victorious college football teams frequent Miss Mona’s cozy bordello, until that Puritan nemesis Watchdog focuses his television cameras and his righteous indignation on the institution.

Wi1h Amelia Earhatt, Judge Crater, Ambrose Bierce and Jimmy Hoffa and a young man whose car careened down a mountain and a girl who jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge. All have some hope for what is yet to come, even those who abandoned all hope entering here. There are games and contests, some comic, some deadly serious, including the last one which determines why they fear facing their destinies in eternity.

A new and thrilling musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic story. Alone in the jungle, how will Mowgli survive in a terrifying but wonderful new world? Will he be able to outwit the mischievous monkeys and 1he powerful python Kaa, while escaping from the claws of the vengeful tiger Shere Khan? In 1his funny and heart-warming story, Mowgli is taken on a journey of self-discovery by his friends Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther and Akela the wolf, where he must learn the laws of the jungle and uncover his true identity.

Things start to go awry when they end up together in 1he country and 1heir deceptions are discovered.
